How We Met
My fiance first met on Instagram. I was lurking into my ex’s page and saw this girl that said he was hot. I then went into this girls page(which was not private) and saw that she posted a random cute guy(my fiance). I clicked on his page and thought he was cute as well. I message him and we started talking that same night. At the time, I was in Florida visiting family and was thinking that this guy could not be real or that I was gonna get cat fished. We started talking through KIK messenger and notice right away we had a lot in common. Also I had noticed that we had an age difference: he was 23 and I was 30. I was very hesitant to start something since my last relationship with a younger person failed horribly. But this guy assured me he was not like any young person as he wanted the same things I wanted: marriage, kids etc or as he put it: build an empire. I asked where he was from and he told me Brooklyn where he was currently residing. I told him I live in the Bronx and was vacationing with family.I asked him if he was real, he said he was so I said prove it. He video chatted 2 seconds later and I realized he was real and he got to see I was real too. We spoke everyday for 1 month and when I returned we met in person. He was instantly attracted to me and I was not. Our first date was at a beautiful resturant called Vapianos. It was the most perfect date ever. Its been bliss and complete happiness since and we have been dating for 1 year and 5 months.
How He Asked
We went on a double date to a restaurant in Little Italy for Valentine’s Day. The couple made the wrong reservations at the one we were waiting at which I didn’t like. To our surprise, the correct restaurant was across the street and was not full. We sat down and there was a small table that I was hoping no one would sit at. My guy and the guy from the other couple was whispering and 5 minutes later, the waiters cleared the table so we would have the whole row just for the 4 of us. We ordered a bottle of wine and dinner. As soon as dinner was done, my guy got up(mind you he is incredibly shy and I thought he was going to the bathroom). He walked over to me and got down on one knee and proposed in front of everyone. I was shocked and amazed. Once I said yes, a random photographer who was just passing through, snapped this photo at the perfect moment. My fiance was so nervous he was trying to put my ring on the wrong hand. Once he finally did, he kissed me. The other couple had filmed it and I was hysterically happy. Afterwards, the waiter came and gave us a bottle of champagne to toast to.
