Patrick and Kara's West Virginia Mountain Proposal
How We Met: My fiancé and I are high school sweethearts that broke up in college and reconnected 8 years later. We had been dating this time around for a year 1/2 when we got engaged. Patrick took me out for my 26th birthday (Saturday August 17th) which is when I really thought he was going to propose. We had a romantic night in Pittsburgh that ended at the Point, but it didn’t happen.
I was starting to think it wouldn’t happen until our trip to Jamaica in October!
How He Asked: The following day (August 18th), we had made plans with my little sister Krissy, who recently graduated from WVU, to go hiking to Ravens Rock, a mountain in Morgantown, WV. The three of us hiked to the top of the mountain and spent the next hour taking photos and exploring. Just as we were getting ready to leave, Patrick asked my sister to take one more photo of us. We took the photo and just as I saw my sisters face light up I turned to Patrick and he was down on his knee with the ring. Krissy captured the entire thing on camera. It was truly a surprise and a wonderful memory.
