Victoria and Taylor

Where to Propose in New York City

How We Met

Me and Taylor met April 2014. We aren’t morning people but for some reason, I call it fate, we both signed up for a 7am college Algebra class. Taylor got my number from mutual friends & he sent me answers to the homework that night (haha). We texted everyday from then and went on our first date. It was perfect. Fun fact, we got snow cones after dinner and I got a “wedding cake” snow cone. Shortly after, Taylor took me to the beach at night and underneath the stars, listening to the waves, he asked to me his girlfriend on June 5, 2014.

How He Asked

We decided to go on 4 day trip to New York City in October. On our first full day, went to the Statue of Liberty and the 9/11 Memorial. We went back to our Airbnb and got ready for a broadway show. We saw A Bronx Tale and really enjoyed it! We planned on going to The Top of The Rock afterwards, but I wanted to go to Times Square since it was so close, so we went. After looking around Times Square, we started going to The Top of The Rock. I was the one in charge of directions and I kept getting us lost so I began to get frustrated so Taylor lead us there instead.

Once we finally got to The Top of The Rock, I wanted a picture of course. The view was amazing. Everyone seemed busy so I told Taylor that we could just use my selfie stick. He was persistent and wanted someone to take our picture. I didn’t think anything of it. He asked this lady and I remember him talking to her longer than just “will you take our picture please?” but still didn’t think much of it. He gets next to me to take a picture and she says “video for you sir?” and he says “no just a picture.” I was confused and then Taylor starts talking to me and now my mind is rushing. Im like why is he talking to me in the middle of the picture, this lady is right here. He then asks me to marry him, I instantly start crying and obviously say yes. In that moment, it felt like everything stood still. The kind stranger who took our picture hugs me and congratulations us. So on October 5, 2017, on roof top of the Rockefeller Center, Taylor asked me to be his wife!! It was the best day ever

We started dating on June 5, 2014, got engaged on October 5, 2017, and will get married on April 5, 2019.
