How We Met
Ian and I met the summer of 2013 on a Birthright trip to Israel. I was a participant and Ian was one of the trip leaders. Our first date was on a camel and our lives have been one big adventure ever since.
How He Asked
On March 14, 2015, Ian woke me up early because it was Ultimate Pi Day and he had a Pi Day gift for me. Pi is 3.14159265338… and rounded up it’s 3.141592654 or on the Gregorian calendar its 3/14/15 9:26:54 – which is the exact day and time that Ian proposed.
He told me he had matching Pi Day shirts for us, so he had me sit on the edge of our bed facing our mirror with my eyes closed as he put them on us. Afterwards, he told me to open my eyes, but I couldn’t tell what the shirt said because the image was reversed in the mirror!
I looked at Ian in confusion and saw that he was on one knee with a ring in his hand. I could then clearly read his shirt which I realized said “Feyonce”…
Ian smiled at me and said “I love you, will you marry me?”
I said yes (of course) but there’s more!
A few weeks later, we scheduled our engagement photos together. We decided to have a little fun with the photoshoot, so we brought our unicorn costumes and decided to take a few in costume after the “nice” photos.
We don’t have a photo of Ian proposing because we were alone at home and even though I love that it was just the two of us, I always wished we had a photo of the moment.
I’m sure I mentioned that to Ian, so when we were taking the unicorn photos, he got down on one knee and re-proposed to me so I’d have that special moment captured.
