Tyler and Gillian
How We Met
Tyler and I met abroad in Australia our junior year. We both had recently gotten out of two and half year relationships but little did I know he would be my fiancé 4 years later. I will never forget on our first date he left me at the dinner table for 30 minutes. I was worried that I had done something wrong but in fact the opposite. Once he got back, he told me that he had never been so nervous and liked a girl so much before. This was the moment I knew that this was the man I had to marry. Now four years later, we are engaged and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect person to be my future husband.
How He Asked
On the day of the proposal, I was expecting to have dinner with my parents and Tyler. Once we got to the country club, he asked me to take a walk out by the water on the docks. Once we were there, he told me he loved me more than anything and that he couldn’t imagine life without me. I immediately starting crying – more like balling my eyes out – because I knew what he was about to do. Finally, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. When I said yes, all my family and his family was cheering up on the balcony as a surprise to me. We walked back up to the balcony and my mom had planned a whole engagement celebration filled with wonderful champagne, dinner and a sparkler cake. I could not have asked for a better proposal.
