Trey and Lauren
How We Met
Trey and I are from the same home town originally, but we met in my first year of college at the University of Colorado Boulder, and started dating one year later. I had told my dad that he was the one and that I would never date again and after introducing Trey to him, my dad knew as well. Trey is my one.
How He Asked
After dating for two years, I was able to fulfill a life long dream of mine, which was studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain. Although this was an exciting adventure for me, it was the hardest thing Trey and I have gone through together, especially with an eight hour time difference. But Trey was supportive and worked so hard in order to come visit for two weeks. During our second weekend in Barcelona together, we found cheap flights to Geneva and an incredible deal on a place to stay, so we packed up and flew to Switzerland. Neither of us had been to Switzerland so Trey suggested on the second day that we go visit a castle on the other side of the lake. We had agreed to go out on a nice dinner date after the castle visit (hence why we were dressed up!).
When we walked outside and saw how beautiful the sun was setting on the lake and behind the mountains, we decided to walk lakeside until dinner. When Trey stopped and told me to put my stuff down, I knew something was up. He took me out on the rock pier and gave me the tightest hug, I could feel his heart pounding in his chest and he then told me how much he loves me, I was already crying. He dropped down to one knee and told me he wants to commit the rest of his life to me and asked me to marry him. Through the tears I said YES! To my surprise there was also a photographer who Trey had hired to capture the moment. Trey’s proposal was better than anything I could have ever dreamed of and was by far the best day of my life so far!
