Tori and Matt

Tori's Proposal in Charlotte, NC

How We Met

Matt and I met our freshman year of high school since we had numerous classes together. He swears he knew he had to be with me once he saw me, I think he’s crazy! After a year of being friends, he finally talked me into going out with him on July 4, 2010. Fast forward to 5 years down the road, I started nursing school and graduate in December of this year so we’ve had to live apart for 2 years now, not fun! Luckily he bought his first house in November of 2016 so we will be moving in there once we’re married. He’s truly been my best friend for 7 years and I can’t imagine being in love with anyone else!

How He Asked

For Matt’s birthday he wanted to go to Cheesecake Factory and invite everyone that’s close to us. I didn’t think much of it, I just thought he wanted to see everyone! So my mom asks me 2 days before if I wanted to get my nails done and go shopping for some new clothes (of course I said yes, who would turn down free nails and shopping?!). Once we get there, we’re all gathering around the fountain just waiting on everyone to get there. My cousin, who is always running late, was the last one to get there and she was carrying a beautiful bouquet of flowers. She came up and said that some guy had given them to her and there was a card but she wasn’t able to grab it and asked me to open it. The envelop said “I knew it was you…”. Once I opened it, it said “Victoria Elizabeth Jenkins, will you marry me?” I started crying instantly and turned around and there he was, down on knee just smiling at me! Of course I said yes and all of our close friends and family were there to witness it and congratulate us. Best night of my life, hands down!
