How We Met
We both worked at a pizza shop in college. Our pizza shop had this weird myth that a lot of former co-workers would go on to get married. I know it sounds weird to ‘dip your pen in company ink’ kinda thing, but it’s true. Like 5 other couples I knew both worked and met there, some even have kids. Well, after months of dodging the question, I finally asked her out in July 2014. We’ve been together ever since. I’m a wedding photographer and she’s an RN. Our wedding is April 2019.
How He Asked
So my grandma always asked me when I was going to get married. I always told her I was waiting for the right time. However, I found out last October that my grandma didn’t have much time left with us, so I decided to honor her wish for me and make the right time right now.
My fiancee graduated on a Thursday so I knew a lot of her family would be in town for that. But I didn’t want to do it then. So I had all of her family members tell her they would be in town Thursday, but I planned for them to all come into town on Wednesday to surprise her.
I organized with all of her best friends to have all of them get dressed up. All of her friends were graduating at the same time, so she thought that they were all going just have a girl’s night at to celebrate graduation. I paid for them all to get mani-pedi’s and had them make sure she put on waterproof eyeliner.
I had her family and some other friends meet us at Mt. Lemmon, where we had our first date. We set up balloons and flowers as a path so she could walk down the path and past all of her loved ones. I was waiting cliff side at the end of the path and proposed at sunset.
