Tiffany and Sam: Taylor Swift Surprise Proposal
How we met: Once upon a time, Sam and I had both worked the Apple Store as Concierge. One day, it was quite busy, and at the time the only thing I was thinking was, “hmm, there is a new hire in the back, and I need help!” So I went to the back and asked for help..well, I more or less yelled at Sam and a few fellow coworkers of mine explaining that I “needed help!” Turns out, he volunteered to help with inventory that night..not to help me… (oops!) Somehow how that approach won me my prince. We had gone out in a group, and it just was wonderful. We both liked the same music, he was into photography, he was pretty dang attractive; I was completely smitten. I had gone on vacation out to Monterey, CA for about a week right after that, and we were immediately attached at the hip thanks to technology. From the moment he picked me up at the airport, we began this adventure. Two years ago today in fact, I began the rest of my life.
How he asked: So I totally believe that Taylor Swift writes songs about my life! Back in April I had purchased us some tickets that were front row dead and center. I had been looking forward to this concert for about 6 months before it happened, so as you can only imagine I was playing tons of T-Swizzle, and had played “Love Story” quite a few times around him, I’m assuming, to give him the idea. (As most of you know, during LS she sings about Romeo and Juliet’s love.) The concert finally came around this last Wednesday in Austin, TX and that was the finale song in her encore. As I was singing and dancing along with everyone around me, he drops to one knee at the moment Taylor sings “He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said, marry me, Juliet, [replacing Juliet with Tiffany, of course!], you’ll never have to be alone. I love you, and that’s all I really know. I talked to your dad ‒ go pick out a white dress It’s a love story, baby, just say, “Yes”… I bet you can guess what I said. I don’t really remember much, there were a lot of tears and shaking and yelling “YES YES YES YES!”. When the concert ended, one of Taylor’s dancers ran up to us and told us, “Hey! Taylor just found out and she really wants to meet you guys and get a picture!” (At this point I had pretty much forgotten my name.) So we got to run backstage and she turned around and screamed with us, congratulated us, and took a picture. It was amazing that she was that happy for us and SO kind to two complete strangers. I think she was more excited than my mom!
