Ton & Lesley | The Mind Museum Proposal
How We Met: I met my fiancée during my days with the Graduate School of Business in Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines where both of us finished our Masters in Business Administration (MBA). She was two batches ahead of me.
I was a member of the University’s MBA Basketball Varsity Team and we just celebrated our Championship Victory Party on the night of May 4, 2012. It was on the same night I met my fiancée when she was invited and introduced to me by the School’s Student Council President. Right from that moment, I knew that she’s the one I’ve been looking for after six (6) years of being single. Six years full of dating and partying.
After that night, everything in my life changed in a heartbeat. She was the game changer.
A month before the day of proposal, I went to meet the parents of my fiancée without her knowledge to asked for her hand and formal approval before me and my fiancée decided to bring our relationship to another level. It was also during that time that I sought for their support to show up during the proposal day.
Dinosaur bones, a giant brain, caveman models and various educational toys are not your usual tools for a love story, but last April 29, 2014, they served as a fitting background for a fun and elaborate wedding proposal. It was all smiles and laughter (and of course, a few tears of joy) at the Mind Museum open plaza, as I knelt down to propose to Lesley, my girlfriend of 19 months. The venue is especially significant to the bride-to-be, because she was the Project Manager when the Mind Museum was constructed 2 years ago. Having visited the museum for the nth time, she was familiar with every exhibit and every corner of the building; what she didn’t know was that once she stepped out of its glass doors, her memory of the place would be changed forever. Witness this one-of-a-kind proposal, documented by Juan Makulay Wedding Films and Team Benitez Films.
