How We Met

After years of failed relationships, I gave in and tried the online dating scene. I found Jordan’s profile online and knew immediately that we had to talk! I messaged him, he replied and we began texting and talking on the phone the next day. We had our first date a week later at a local tavern that lasted 5 hours and it was the best first date I’ve ever had.

How He Asked

One year later, on our anniversary, we went to New York City. Of course, we chose the coldest weekend in years but it just meant we had more reason to be closer. We went to the history museum and then across the street to Central Park. The park was closed to cars, the snow was falling, and it was beautifully, serenely quiet and perfect. We walked a few paths then up to this rock overlooking a lake. Jordan said, “let’s take a picture, it’s gorgeous here!” We took a selfie with the trees, and the snow, and the lake behind us and it was beautiful! I turned around to show him and he was down on one knee. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I just stared at him as he said my name asked me to marry him. I couldn’t even get the words out to say yes, even though my head was nodding. He smiled, stood up and placed the ring on my finger. We had talked about marriage for a while but I didn’t think he would propose that weekend. It was beautiful and made for the perfect day. I’ve never been happier or felt like luckier than I have in my time with Jordan. I’m beyond excited to spend the rest of my life with such an amazing guy!
