Taylor and Logan
How We Met
Logan and I met on January 23, 2015. I had plans to go to dinner with friends that night, but got off work early and decided to go get some hot cocoa while I waited for them. I found a small coffee shop that happened to have a live band playing and nearly every table was taken up by people reading or playing board games. It wasn’t long after I got my drink and settled down at the last open table that Logan walked in. He ordered and then approached me, asking if I was saving the seats around me. We started chatting and before we knew it, the shop was closing and we moved outside to keep talking. I eventually canceled my dinner plans and he asked me to go get sushi with him instead. We spent another few hours at the restaurant before he asked for my number and set up a date for the very next night! We still consider it our “anniversary” because we have been nearly inseparable ever since!
How He Asked
Logan had a business trip in Portland, Oregon and I planned to fly in and join him later in the week. What I didn’t know was that he spent nearly the entire week shopping for a ring box, making reservations and driving around the city, searching for the perfect place to propose. He called me mid-week and casually asked me if I wanted to do family photos while we were visiting the International Rose Test Garden and I helped him choose a photographer, trying not to get my hopes up.
Friday came around and we had a blast exploring the city before headed back to the AirBnb to get ready. We met our photographer and his family at the gardens a little before sunset and I couldn’t believe how beautiful our surroundings were! We were taking photos for nearly an hour when Logan started moving us to a row of beautiful rose covered arches. I didn’t realized what was happening until he took my hands and started telling me how much he loves me.
I was already crying as he got to one knee and opened the ring box to reveal a big plastic ring, a huge grin on his face. I froze for a moment, then nearly collapsed laughing. It took some time for me to get it together so he could propose for real, this time with his great grandmother’s ring. I had just barely finished.
