Suzanne and Travis
Travis and I met in February 2015. Our first date was at a local Irish pub/restaurant. It was love at first sight. When I arrived home that evening, Travis told me how much fun he had because I was “so full of life”. On our second date, I met Travis’ 1 year old son, Knox. From the moment I met him, Knox and I had a special bond. I felt very close to him and my love for him grew more and more every day. I have called Knox my son since the beginning. Although he did not grow beneath my heart, he grew within it.
Travis and I were looking at jewelry, for our mothers, the Saturday before Mother’s Day. Just browsing around, we stumbled upon a beautiful round cut diamond setting. It was so sparkly! As soon as I put it on, I saw Travis grin from ear to ear. That was short-lived, though, and we continued shopping for our Mother’s Day gifts.
The day after Mother’s Day, Travis asked if I wanted to go for a walk to the park. I’m a school teacher and on my feet all day ;), so I wasn’t too keen on the idea, but I went to be a good trooper. Me, Travis, Knox, and our black lab, Scout walked to the park. Shortly after getting there, I had my back turned away from Knox and Travis and I heard Travis say, “Go give this to Mommy.” Next thing I knew, Knox was running at me – full speed – saying, “Wear my wing!!!” The funny part was that Knox just kept running past me – pulling the ring out of the box! Travis had to chase Knox around for moment before getting the ring back. We were all laughing hysterically as Travis popped the question.
