Summer and Travis

How We Met

The night that Travis and I met, was one of the most memorable nights that I’ll ever remember because from right there, I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. We have been so inseparable ever since and it’s the greatest feeling to know that you have found your soulmate.

How He Asked

He took me on a surprise “day date” for our anniversary and part of it was fly fishing. We are both avid hunters and anglers, so this was a perfect setting for us. He took me to the spot where we went fly fishing together for the first time. It was absolutely beautiful when we got there! There was snow on the mountain peaks and there was so much greenery around us. It was funny, because it rained the whole way to our spot but a mile down the road from where we were going was partly sunny! It made the scenery that much more breath taking. We fly fished for a little bit and then he asked me to come over to him. At first, I thought he caught a fish. When I looked down, I noticed he didn’t catch anything, but then he proceeded to tell me how much he loved me and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. He kissed me and then got down on one knee, grabbed a box out of his waders, and asked me to marry him.

Summer's Proposal in Glacier, WA

I was so surprised and said yes a million times and started to tear up. I kept hugging him and saying yes and told him jokingly that I knew he was going to make me cry when he asked me. He then said, “if you’re going to cry, face the camera!” His parents were recording and taking pictures of the whole thing! It made me tear up even more because it was so special. We took pictures after that and I was in awe of this gorgeous ring on my left hand the whole entire time… I still cannot believe that I get to marry my best friend! I feel like the luckiest girl in the World.
