Wedding Proposal Ideas in Gros Morne National Park, Newfoundland, Canada

How We Met

We met online. I saw that we had a few friends in common, so I felt more comfortable talking to him because of that. After talking for a little while, he invited me for drinks after work one night with his coworkers. I went and met everyone in one shot (which was surprisingly comfortable for me, haha)! We laughed, we danced and ended the night with a kiss. I let him know when I got home safe, and the next day we were already planning our second (solo) date!

How He Asked

We’d been planning this road trip to Newfoundland for months. The day finally came where we set off on this 12-day journey, living out of Dan’s truck, to explore the easternmost coast of North America. We camped, cooked on the tailgate, and planned some hikes and historical stops along the way. One specific hike that we signed up to do with a group fell on a day when it was supposed to rain (mind you, this was the day Dan was planning to propose).

He made some phone calls to switch some things around and made sure that we could do the hike a day early. I am not as experienced as Dan with hiking, especially 18km up a mountain, but he was so supportive, and kept saying, “Whatever we do, we have to make it to the top!” And boy am I glad that we did!
