Sheila and Josh's Amazing Proposal at the Grand Canyon
How We Met
Josh and I met at Texas A&M University five years ago. We we’re in the same major and ran into each other occasionally in our common hallways.
How He Asked
My supervisor asked me to go on a last minute work trip to New Mexico the week of Halloween and I was pretty bummed to be honest. I begged my boyfriend Josh to come with me because we were close to the Grand Canyon and Horseshoe Bend and maybe we could spend the weekend together. Josh was reluctant at first because of how brief the trip would be, but he finally gave in. I finished off the work week and drove to pick up Josh from Flagstaff to head to the Grand Canyon. We spent the first day hiking the Canyon and the second day on a day trip to Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon.
We had made plans to watch the sunset again over the Canyon like we did the day before but this time he had hired professional photographers to follow us. I was completely oblivious to all of this and was in total shock when a few moments later he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. All I could say was “Are you serious?” until I finally said yes.
The whole evening I stared at him and the beautiful ring in disbelief. On top of all this, Josh had switched our flights to arrive back to Houston on Sunday at 2:30pm instead of our 9pm arrival and had both of our families waiting at home with balloons, champagne and ecstatic faces. It was perfect and couldn’t have imagined it any better.
