Serenade Marriage Proposal in Nashville
From the groom: Meredith and I met when we were both studying at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Truth be told, she was dating a former roommate of mine at the time, but that really just meant we got to become good friends before we ever started dating. Our relationship started two years later when I drove from Fort Worth, Texas to Hot Springs, Arkansas to be with her on her 21st birthday…we’ve been together ever since.
The proposal was a celebration of where we live and who we are. Nothing is more important to Meredith than family. That’s why I convinced her parents to make the seven-hour trip to from Hot Springs to Nashville to surprise her on our special day…she had no idea they were coming until we turned the last corner.
Nashville is Music City so what better way to do it than with guitars on the river? I’ve played since I was a boy and Meredith’s father is a professional musician so it just worked out. “I Will Wait” by Mumford and Sons seems like an unusual choice because it’s not a song that would immediately come to mind, but if you really listen to the words, it’s perfect, just like Meredith.
