Sarah and Neal's 18th Hole Proposal
How We Met: Neal and I met in April 2011 at a winery in the Santa Cruz mountains. I was wine tasting and he was working behind the bar. I was so taken by his charm that I signed up for the wine club in hopes of seeing him again. And I did. We starting dating that fall.
How He Asked: I had been waiting awhile for a proposal and was always asking my family if they knew anything. We were approaching the holidays and planning a trip to Maui, but I knew he wouldn’t propose in Hawaii since his family wasn’t going to make it. We live an hour from Pebble Beach and visit the resort frequently. One of my favorite restaurants looks out onto the 18th hole at Pebble and the view is stunning. On Saturday, December 20, 2014, Neal randomly asked me if I wanted to head down to Pebble and grab lunch. Of course I jumped at the chance. We got down there pretty early and just walked around the course. I had no idea he had been planning to propose, he was so calm and collected. After walking around and having a long lunch, I told him it was time to go since we had a Christmas party that night. He asked me to walk down to the 18th green and take a photo really quick. When we got down there I handed my phone and asked someone to take a picture. He said he wanted to use his phone and got down to grab it and instead grabbed a small box and asked me to marry him. It was perfect. We are getting married May 23, 2015!
