Sarah and Eric

How He Asked

Eric and I met in collage while at Middle Tennessee State University. After a few months of playing hard to get, I let him take me on a second date and we instantly fell head over heels for eachother. After a year and a half of dating, Eric was offered a job in Salt Lake City Utah. We decided that the timing was right for him to go, but that I would stay in Nashville. After a year and a half of a long distance relationship, Eric decided he was ready to pop the question. He had dropped a few hints of possibly proposing Memorial Day weekend at my family’s lake house, so an engaged was completely out of my head for this weekend.

During Eric’s time in the West, we started doing a lot of hiking and outdoor activities; we had been talking for a while about how we wanted to hike the Grand Canyon, and we wanted to do so before Eric moved away from the west so he planned a weekend getaway and a guided hike, which turned out to (unexpectedly) be just the two of us. The morning of, started off very normal- we got up and got ready, and our tour guide picked us up at the hotel. We toured the rim of the canyon, did a little sight seeing, ate lunch then started on our 3 mile hike. When we reached the bottom of our hike, our tour guide asked if we wanted a picture, but was really filming us. Eric then got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him.
