Samantha and Brian

Samantha's Proposal in Massachusetts State House Boston,MA

How We Met

Brian and I matched on Tinder in December 2013. After messaging for about a week, we decided to meet in person. Once we met, I knew there was something different about him. He was kind and funny. He asked me a lot about myself, and didn’t try to make the conversation about him. I knew there was an instant spark between us.

How He Asked

Brian’s brother was moving to Boston with his girlfriend. Brian and I both took a few days off of work before I went back to college to help move them in to their apartment. Brian and I live in Maryland, and we were both very excited to go to Boston for the first time. Brian proposed on my 23rd birthday. We had just gotten dinner with Brian’s brother and his girlfriend when they needed to go to Target to get a few more things for their apartment. Brian and began to walk back towards their apartment in Beacon Hill when we stopped in front of the Massachusetts State House because my feet were hurting from all of the walking. Brian was looking up and down the street waiting for his brother and his girlfriend to drive by in their Lyft from Target. We then hear Brian’s brother’s voice from down the street, so I go to stand up. Brian then looks at me and says: “I didn’t get you anything for your birthday, but I’ve been holding onto this for a while and I love you…” and then he got down on one knee and said “Will you marry me?” I nearly fell over and I started sobbing and said “yes!”
