Sabrina and Jordan
How We Met
Jordan and I met nearly 11 years ago on the first day of our Freshman year of High School. We sat at the same lunch table that fall semester. What started as your typical flirtatious picking on each other, blossomed into a full on relationship a year later. All throughout High School we were inseparable and were even voted Cutest Couple. We decided to go to separate Colleges and did 5 years of long distance, to which we both felt was perfect for us to find ourselves and our passions, and truly value the time we got to share together. We have grown with each other, been there through good times and bad, and are honestly the best of friends. We catch ourselves laughing until midnight on a regular basis and both love to search for the best glass of wine or tacos in Chicago. I feel so lucky to have found my soulmate and best friend so early in my life and wouldn’t change it for the world.
How He Asked
What started as a fun Sister date on Martin Luther King Day, ended in the most amazing way possible. Jordan had been planning this for a couple of months, and knew he wanted to include my twin sister Lindsey in on every part as they are both my best friends and most important people in my life. Lindsey had asked me to come to Chicago and visit her on Martin Luther King day as it was a Monday Holiday that we both had off work for, I said yes. Jordan had told me he had to work that day (he was also very sneaky and sent me fake snapchats all day from work through a fancy app)
Fast forward to MLK Day where it was 2 degrees out with a wind chill of negative 17: My sister had the most amazing date planned for her and I. We woke up and had brunch at Restoration Hardware- 3 Arts Club in Lincoln Park which was absolutely amazing. She then told me this story about how she got a spa gift certificate as from a client at work and wanted to surprise me with a manicure and a massage to which I was ecstatic about! (This is something that is the norm for us to do on a sister date.) She told the entire spa what was happening that day and I had no clue. We then went to the Art institute where we went on a wild goose chase to meet one of her friends. I had never been to the art institute so I was getting bummed that we were skipping all of this amazing famous art, just to find her friend. We finally get to the third floor where she then proceeds to walk out onto the bridge where it was freezing, I was so confused and frustrated, I genuinely couldn’t figure out why her friend would be out there on such a cold day. As I turn the corner I then saw Jordan. I knew instantly what was happening and could not stop smiling. He took my hands and told me 11 years ago was the best day of his life up until today. He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him With the beautiful city skyline in the background. Of course without hesitation I said, “Yes.” It was more magical then I could have ever imagined, and I can not wait to marry my Best Friend!
