Rylee and Jonah

How We Met

A true knight in shining armour story: some backstory first: Jonah and I have known one another our entire lives but hadn’t seen each other for probably 5 or 6 years. Our mothers have been best friends since kindergarten. Our grandparents were/are great friends as well. Sadly I lost my grandma in 2009 and unfortunately in March Jonah lost his Grandma. Jonah is in the marines and had come back to Yreka for his grandmas service. Our families were doing a lot together during that week. I went over on Sunday night and to my surprise there was this very handsome man standing in front of me. I couldn’t believe how much he’d grown up since the last time i saw him. (He was a total hunk and I was speechless)

I talked with my mom and said mom why didn’t you tell me to wear something cuter!!!! The next evening our families got together and once again there was a chemistry that couldn’t be denied. The next night he showed up to the workout class I taught. I was so nervous and could hardly talk. I didn’t know what came over me. I really liked this guy. Fast forward we went on dates and fell for one another. Jonah had to be deployed and while he was gone we grew closer and closer and fell head over heals for one another. He came home and we knew we wanted to be with one another forever. And in November he proposed. He is the best thing that could have ever happened to me. He’s so kind and loving. I am so blessed and so excited for our wedding in April! Who would have thought I would have ended up marrying my moms best friends son.

How He Asked

My best friend is a photographer. When Jonah got back from being deployed he got in contact with my best friend and they set it up. We got pictures and he asked during our photos. I though we were just getting pictures taken for Christmas presents for our moms!
