Robyn and Billy

Day one of our vacation we arrived to a severe thunderstorm in Sand Point, Idaho. This left us without power and water for a few days.

August 4, 2014, just a normal day on vacation. We all woke up to a home cooked meal from Billy’s grandma, got ready and went out on the lake. We decided it would probably be a good idea to shower and since we had no water, our only option was to shower in the lake…and so we did. 8 people in the middle of the lake, shampoo was everywhere. It was a memory I will never forget. We headed back to the house and started to get ready for the “Christmas card picture” we were taking that afternoon. Luckily we had the motorhome to do our hair in so the picture wouldn’t be filled with frizzy curls. Everyone kept offering to go inside the house to get my things so I could get ready, I thought it was a little weird but wasn’t going to turn down the offer to not have to walk all the way to the house. lol. I will never forget Traci asking me, “Why is Billy acting so weird?”. I had no idea what was about to happen, I was just worried about how my hair was going to look in the Christmas card picture. lol.

The family went out to get the boat so we could head to dinner at a nice restaurant across the lake. We stayed behind to relax and then proceeded to the patio area to wait for them. There was a woman who was taking pictures of the garden, she was from “The Garden Society”…so i thought. Minutes later, the boat started to pull towards us and I turned around to the Goshen’s holding a sign that said, “Robyn will you marry me?”

Tears immediately started running down my face, I was finally going to marry the love of my life.

He got down and asked me to marry him, in the most beautiful place, with not only his entire family, but my dad and grandma also. I turned around to my dad and grandma on the balcony of his grandparent’s house.

This was so surreal, I couldn’t have asked for anything more on this day. Both of our families had come together to celebrate this moment with us and it was a complete surprise. We toasted to our engagement and then sat down for a bit to talk about what had just happened. Just when I thought the surprises were over, a plane comes flying into the marina. I literally just thought it was parking but little did I know, it was our ride to dinner. Yes, a Seaplane was taking us to dinner. Limo? NO. SEAPLANE. I was still shaking from the proposal and at this point it probably looked like I had a twitch. We got a tour of the beautiful lake from the pilot on our way to dinner.

I am so thankful for every single person who was a part of this day. You all mean the world to me and I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing proposal.
