Rachel and Nicholas
How we met: Nick and I met in 8th grade. We sat next to each other in our science class. Nick was a pretty shy guy and I was very out going. I remember talking to him first. I introduced myself to him and he said back to me, “You’re eyes are beautiful.” He didn’t even tell me his name! I knew from that point on, I’d have a friend and possible boyfriend. A few months went by and he asked me out to our school’s Winter Formal. That was the night we kissed for the first time. We became a couple that night and the rest is history.
How he asked: Nick and I have always shared a love of snowboarding. Our Freshman year of high school, he taught me how. Fast forward 9 years later, we still shared that same passion. Going every chance we got, we went to the same place he taught me so many years earlier. One day he decided he wanted to go away for the night and go for opening day. I didn’t think it was the best idea because there are never many runs open. But we went, and just like i thought, there were only 2 runs. We waited in line to get on the lift, heading all the way to the top. When we got to the top, he was rushing me to get myself together. I told him to go ahead and I’d catch up. So he started down the mountain but stopped half way because I was a bit rusty and kept falling. Once I met up with him, he gave me a kiss and said “I’ll meet you at the bottom.” He sped by me and I slowly made my way down. From a distance, I saw he had taken his board off and was standing. Once I got to him, he knelt down on his knee, pulled out my STUNNING ring from his snow pants and told me he loved me. “Rachel, marry me?” I started to laugh and jump up and down. I said “Yes, of course!” Right as I said yes, it began to snow. It was magical. My best friend just asked me to be his wife. We walked into the lodge, everyone clapped and congratulated us. We drank champagne near the fire and then headed up to our mountain view hotel room for the night. It was the best night of my life.
