Where to Propose in Tempe Town Lake
My fiancé and I met online on a dating app called “Coffee Meets Bagel.” I remember almost skipping over him, because I’m an ASU fan and he’s a U of A fan. I’m sure glad I didn’t! We connected online in August 2015. We chatted online for a couple days but if we wanted to meet up, we would have to act fast since our chat line would be closed. Our first date was on August 22, 2015. We became boyfriend and girlfriend in October 2015. Fast forward two years. He texted me saying a friend (and her husband) that he works with suggested getting together on the coming Friday. I didn’t think anything of it and let him schedule everything. The day of, I get home from work and begin trying to find something to wear. He suggested a dress, but I would have needed extra time to prepare, which I’m thinking we didn’t have that extra time. So I change and we leave. We get to Tempe Town Lake, which is one of my favorite places and where we’re “meeting” our friends. He texted them to let them know we’re here and they responded saying they’d be there in 20 minutes. We start walking around and we get to the bridge by the arts center. I ask if he wanted to cross the bridge and he was REALLY excited to cross it! We walk about halfway across and then he grabs my hands and says how much he loves me and wants to spend the rest of his life taking care of me and then got down on one knee and proposed! Of course I said yes! I was totally surprised! He also had some friends taking pictures the whole time! So after he put the ring on my finger, we met up with those friends and thanked them and then he said he has other plans and we needed to go. While walking back, I asked him what these other plans were. He says that we’re at the lake, which is one of my favorite places, and to celebrate we’re going to my favorite restaurant. We go there and celebrate and tell our families the news! I can’t wait to marry the love of my life!
