Paige and Alan
How We Met
Alan and I met working in North Carolina. I was not immediately interested, but his charm quickly won me over. Fast forward to 8 months of dating, and we got the opportunity to move to Glacier National Park in Montana. We were nervous about taking such a big step so soon, and being so far from our friends and family, but decided we would regret it if we didn’t go. It was the best decision we ever made. We fell in love with the west, and with the adventurous spirits we brought out in one another. Summers were spent hiking, kayaking and riding horses. Winters were all about skiing and falling more in love with each other every day. Alan made me my best self, and helped me figure out what made me happiest. He is the best partner I could ever imagine, and we have shared so many amazing memories. From road tripping across the country to breathtaking National Parks, to going on white sand beach vacations in Jamaica and the Virgin Islands I can’t imagine a more perfect person to do it with.
How He Asked
Alan and I moved to Steamboat Springs, CO in November 2015 and are staying for the foreseeable future. We planned an overnight backpacking trip in a nearby wilderness area. The hike into our campsite was amazing. We were surrounded by waterfalls, wildflower meadows, alpine lakes and gorgeous mountains. We even had our own private pond at our campsite. The next morning we climbed to the top of Mt. Zirkel, the highest mountain in the area. That is where he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! We had been documenting our entire trip on our GoPro like we always do, so the precious moment was captured, and could not have been more beautiful!
