Marriage Proposal Ideas in Samantha, AL

How He Asked

He told me that he wanted to take me out for a date to my favorite restaurant in town. After we finished with dinner and we got back to the car he told me that he had something romantic planned and to trust him. We started driving and I noticed we were headed to his uncles land where we had our first date (needless to say it that date is when I knew he was the one). We were almost there and he asked me if I knew where we were going. I told him that I had a good idea that we were going to his uncle’s place. He then pulls over to the side of the road and asks me to put a blindfold on. But of course, I give him trouble and tell him he’s out of his mind because it’ll mess up my makeup (the dumbest thing to be worried about) haha. I tell him I’ll close my eyes and put my head in my lap and he told me not to peek!

Nicole and Matthew's Engagement in Samantha, AL

Me not peeking is the hardest thing to ask me to do! He then gets back on the road and we come to a stop. He gets out of the truck and after sitting there for what feels like 10 minutes he gets me out and starts walking me down a path with my eyes still having to be shut (not an easy task I might add when roots from trees are everywhere and it’s muddy).

He tells me to stop and to open my eyes and when I did I looked and saw our tree lit up with lights and candles and flowers hanging down from the branches. We walk down the path and then he turns me to him. At this point, I “know” what’s happening and I just start to cry tears of joy. He starts talking to me and starts to cry as well.

He then gets down on one knee 5 1/2 years later and asks me to marry him! Of course, I said YES and practically tackled him out of joy haha. Then the song I want playing at our wedding comes on and we just dance and talk to each other still crying. After the song ends the photographers and videographers he hired came out of the dark and celebrate with us.

We then started FaceTiming everyone I could think of that’s been waiting so long for the announcement. We stayed there talking to his uncle and just soaking in the moment that we were finally engaged!
