Morgan and Shawn
How We Met
Shawn and I met in high-school, I was a sophomore and he was a senior. We instantly clicked and had a lot of fun together. I was so excited to be hanging out with an older boy. After a couple months he asked me to be his girlfriend and of course I said yes. Since then we have been through 6 years dating, 6 months now engaged, and 2 years living together. We have been through high-school graduations, college graduations, all of the changes that come in life and we have still continued to have tons of fun together. I cant imagine spending my life with anyone else.
How He Asked
The day before Christmas Eve Shawn said he was going to tell me what one of my presents were early (I am usually so bad about keeping secrets and always end up telling him what his presents are early). I was so excited of course because he never tells me early. He said we we’re getting our pictures taken by one of our best friends, dressing up and everything. So of course I went and showered, picked out my outfit, thought about my hair, ect. On Christmas Eve morning he said we were meeting her on a trail in the mountains where we live. We took the short hike and met our friend there. She starts directing us and taking pictures- the whole time I’m thinking what a considerate present this was because he doesn’t usually like to take pictures (especially multiple pictures).
On the very top of the mountain our friend said she was going to take a couple individual pictures. Shawn went first and posed a couple times then it was my turn. Our friend started directing me and I’m doing whatever she tells me and she says to turn around and look out over the mountain so I do. When I turned around I got the real surprise. He was down on one knee with the biggest smile on his face. He told me he loved me and asked if I would marry him.
At this point I am DEFINITELY crying. Ugly crying. Finally I get out a yes and he puts the most beautiful ring on my finger. He then starts telling me how our best friend was in on it and helped picked out the ring and how my mom already knew because the night before he went and asked for her blessing. This all made me cry even more. It was hands down one of the best moments of my life.
