Miosha and Terence
How We Met
It’s kind of a funny story, I saw him a year before we ever knew one another. I was with one of my close friends, and he showed up with her boyfriend. So I look at my best friend, and I was like he looks like my future husband. She looked at me laughed, and said I was crazy. So fast forward another year, I began attending the church that he also attended as well. Everyone tried to push us to date from the beginning, and we just did NOT mesh well at all. I knew I was interested in him, and he was interested in me as well. We ended up giving it a shot which was a bit rocky at first. But we promised to keep God in the center of it all, and with Him at the center, nothing could tear us apart.
Like every couple, we had our moments where we had to really decide if this was what we wanted. We took some time apart from one another for a few months just to really focus o ourselves, and our relationships with God individually. We had to truly find ourselves in the midst of that time, as hard as being without one another was. But it was so vital for our relationship. When we decided to give our love another chance, we knew that this was it. We knew that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. We understand the potential in one another and as a unit. So here we are two years later stronger, and better than ever. We are so thankful for each other. He’s honestly my best friend in the whole world, I wouldn’t want to spend my life and change the world with anybody else.
How He Asked
My fiance knows how obsessed I am with sunflowers. We had planned a weekend trip to D.C. and I had found the perfect sunflower garden and begged to make this part of our trip. We arrived at the garden, and it was everything that I could have hoped for and more. There was a photographer there that greeted my fiance and me at the beginning of our day and he began to take pictures of the two of us. I am a blogger (Christian – Fashion), so any opportunity to get pictures is a YES! We were able to get some pretty cool shot of the both of us, then some individual ones for me. Terence then tells me he needs to go get something out of his backpack, which I thought nothing of.
He comes back with one of my favorite books, as well as a bible. Still, I have no idea that he is about to propose to me. He begins to tell me that he got the author of the book “Spoken For” to write a special message to me. That in itself has me completely shocked. He then proceeds to open up the bible to show me the scripture “Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord” Proverbs 18:22. When he shows me the bible I see that there is another piece with a heart cut out and there lies the ring. He gets down on one knee and asks me to be his wife.
I was so overwhelmed and shocked I told him I felt like I was going to pass out. It was the most perfect proposal from the most amazing man. I’m so honored to able to become his wife. After ending a very bad relationship, I got quiet with God and told him I would wait for Him to prepare the man He knew I deserved. Along came Terence, and I’m just so blessed to be his wife.
