Michael and Laura

How We Met

Michael and I were matched on an online dating site. The second I saw his photo, I knew that there was something very special about him. I just had this feeling that we would end up together. We texted back and forth for about a week, but the conversation sort of just drifted off. A few months later, I received a message from Michael out of the blue! I was so excited!! We began talking daily and he eventually asked me out on a date. I still remember the way he smiled at me on our first date and knowing that this was the man that I was going to marry.

how he asked

After slightly over a year of dating, we purchased our first home. Neither Michael nor I are big picture takers, so we had very few photos to frame and put up in the new house. I scheduled an appointment with Angela to do a nice couples shoot, so we could have some professional photos to hang up on our walls. We chose Silver Falls State Park in Oregon for our shoot. Michael and I are both very outdoorsy and loved the idea of nature as our background.

What I did not know was that Michael was planning on proposing during our photo shoot so that I could have the memory preserved forever. We had found a stunning spot on the path that over-looked a waterfall and Angela got us into position to take a few photos. She was commenting on how beautiful the location was when Michael pulled out a ring.

I could not believe it was happening!! He proposed to me right there in front of the waterfall!! I was completely stunned and elated! And even better, we got the entire proposal on camera so that we can enjoy our engagement photos for the rest of our lives (and they are now hanging up on the walls of our home.)
