Meghan and Robby

Meghan's Proposal in Isle of Palms, SC at the Wild Dunes Resort Beach

How We Met

Robby and I had first met over 3.5 years ago at our apartment pool. I first saw Robby and had an instant crush! He kept swimming by me and eventually came over to where I was sitting and asked if he could sit right next to me because “there were too many bugs” where he was and naturally I said yes! We talked for hours about everything and anything. The next day we both “accidentally” ran into each other at the gym and from there it was basically history.

How He Asked

Flash forward to December and Robby asked me to take a day off from work without any explanation. He said we were going on a trip and I thought we were just going to spend the night in Savannah, GA because were actually flying home to see my family that Friday so naturally I thought he just wanted for a stay near the airport so we could sleep a little later! Well, the morning for our surprise trip comes around and we passed the exit to go to Savannah…I was so confused but we ended up in Charleston (one of my favorite places ever) and went right to the Godiva shop where they have the best ice cream ever, trust me and get it sometime. After eating way too much ice cream we went right to shopping, what girl doesn’t love that. It was the perfect day already but then Robby said he had one more surprise! We got back in the car and drove out of Charleston and ended up at the Wild Dunes Resort in the Isle of Palms, it holds a special place for us because we spent our first Valentine’s Day over there and it was so magical- so to go back to the resort was unbelievable. We checked in as soon as we got there and then Robby saw that the sun was setting so he asked if I’d like to watch it on the beach…totally romantic, right? Well, we walked to the beach and Robby said he wanted to surprise me with a drawing so I turned around and could hear him writing something in the sand, at this point I started shaking and crying because I knew what was about to happen. I turned around and saw Robby down on one knee with “Marry Me” written in the sand. I said yes! It is the best day of our lives and we are so excited to get married!
