Megan and Stefan
How We Met
Stefan and I have been together for almost 5 years now. We met at the school gym (University) and from our first date, I knew he was special. Our first date was a dream. We spent four hours at dinner ordering lettuce wraps (then laughing when we realized we had to assemble said wraps from an entire head of iceberg lettuce….), we then went to play pool and have a drink while learning more about one another, and finished with 3am coffee at Tim Hortons when I had to be up at 6am that morning. From the get go, he has been the kindest, most generous, funniest man I have ever met, and I fall in love with him more and more every day.
How He Asked
I have been with Stefan for almost five years now. We got out puppy, Piper, almost two months ago, and it turns out, up until we got her that Stefan was planning on proposing on our Vacation to the Yukon earlier in July. After the proposal he told me the reason he did not propose in the Yukon on top of Kings Throne (a very large hike we did), was because once we got Piper, we became a small little family, and he wanted it to be personal, something we both love to do (hiking), a place we have not been to before (Albion Hills along the Bruce Trail), and he wanted Piper there.
Fast forward to July 29th. All morning he was so calm, did not seem nervous, a usual Sunday. We ended up going to Niagara Falls for the day with the puppy, and then went to Albion Hills (he surprised me with this part) to go for a hike. We Hiked pretty far along the trail and then went off trail to the creek to relax, no one was around. Stefan then pulled out a red envelope for me to open. Inside was a card that he had custom designed as a heart made of puzzle pieces, inside “You are the last piece of the puzzle”. He had written vows and our love story within the card, immediately I was sobbing, when I finished and could barely see through my tears, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was the best day of my life, the most perfect proposal, so very “us”, and he made sure our puppy, our little family, was there. Stefan said he was going to try to read the card but realized he could barely say my name and “will you marry me” through his tears. We are so excited to start this next chapter in our beautiful lives together.
