Proposal Tips

  1. Ensure she's prepared for whatever weather is planned. Bring a jacket or sweater that she won't mind wearing in photos, carry an umbrella if there's a chance of rain, and have a warm location nearby to go to after if you plan to propose in the snow or cold weather.
  2. Don't forget to capture your special moment in pictures! Choose your photographer wisely. Look through their portfolio, because your final pictures will likely reflect the style of their past photoshoots, and book in advance.
  3. Make sure she's dressed appropriately. If she's mentioned in passing that she wants to be dressed up or have her nails and hair done, then don't propose to her after a sweaty hike or when she's dressed for a casual day out. If you say you're taking her out to dinner but you're really taking her for a walk, try to discourage her from heels or have her bring a backup pair of flats.
  1. A lot of people like to propose around meaningful dates, such as holidays, anniversaries, or birthdays. This is perfect proposal timing, especially if you can include any cute couple traditions you two might have.
  2. The best way to maintain the surprise of the proposal is by planning around dates when she would never expect a ring. But if you have the opportunity to propose on an anniversary or during a particularly romantic vacation, go for it!
  3. Family and friends should always be involved in your proposal in some way. After all, this is a huge part of your life, and so are they! Either include them when you pop the question, or plan a surprise celebration after she says yes.
