Marisol and Frank
How We Met
Frank and I swiped RIGHT on Tinder on March 2, 2015. His catchy line about what my favorite soccer position captured my soccer lover heart from the start, so of course, I responded. After two weeks of non-stop messaging and Snapchatting, Frank and I coincidentally ran into each other at a nightclub in San Francisco while we were both out with friends. It was the first time we met in real life and yet it felt like I had known him forever. We danced and talked all night, and two days later Frank asked me out on our first official date! That first week Frank took me out on 4 dates, and well the rest is history.
How He Asked
December 24, 2016, Frank planned this day in only 2 weeks, and it turned out to absolutely perfect! On Christmas Eve morning, Frank surprised Marisol with tickets to the Raiders vs Colts game in Oakland, CA. They got ready, put on their matching Khalil Mack jerseys, and rode out to O.Co on BART. When they arrived at the stadium, Marisol was surprised to find out that Frank had gotten them tickets in the club level seating where most athlete families and season ticket holder sit (tickets were purchased for Frank by Raiders Defensive Tackle, Justin Ellis #78). It was such a fun, exciting game as the Raiders had the lead at halftime.
During this halftime break, Frank took some headphones out of his pocket and handed them to Marisol expressing to her that there was a song he wanted to show her. Marisol was confused but complied as she threw on the headphones and plugged them into her phone. She waited patiently for the song link to come through to her phone and was extremely surprised when an unknown number sent her a video instead. Marisol pressed play and watched as her favorite player, Raider Defensive End Khalil Mack #52 told her that Frank had a question for her and that he hoped she said YES. Marisol was so shocked she had to watch the video a second time and when she looked up Frank was on one knee and asked her to marry him. SHE SAID YES! The Proposal was featured in Complex Magazine later that day. Here’s the link.
