Mandy and Brian

How We Met: Brian and I met unexpectedly. We were both out with our respective groups of friends at a bar outside of Philadelphia. It just so happened that one of my friends knew one of his friends, which happened to be the reason for my going there that night. I remember the first thing I noticed about him were his eyes. He was on the other side of the room in a crowd of people, and being 6’1 and taller than most of them, that is what I saw first. I kept glancing throughout the night and noticed that he was too. He ended up coming over to me and introducing himself and we spent the rest of the night chatting about anything and everything. I gave him my phone number when the night ended. When I was driving home I kept thinking that something was different about him and couldn’t wait until we spoke again. He called two days later…

How He Asked: I still get butterflies thinking about our proposal. Brian and I love to travel. This past summer, we decided to take a trip to Italy. Ten days, three cities. The first city we visited was Rome. Delicious wine, the Vatican, the Coliseum, ancient architecture, and not to mention the delicious food! On our third day there, Brian and I planned a “romantic” dinner, as we like to refer to it. I had no idea that what he had planned was something totally different! As we were walking to “dinner” I suggested to Brian that we take a picture together in front of a beautiful fountain in Villa Borghese, little did I know that this is where Brian had planned months in advance to propose! We walked to the front of the fountain; he took the camera out of my hand and placed it on the fountain. Then he faced me and said that he made a wish the other day when he was at the fountain and got down on one knee. He said that his wish was that I would be his beautiful wife, and of course I said YES! After exchanging our ecstatic hugs and kisses he told me that there was a photographer, capturing the entire moment!! I met the photographer Rochelle and she allowed me to digest everything and take it all in. Then, we walked around the entire park for our engagement pictures. Everything was more than beautiful.
