Maggie and Nathan
How We Met
We meet at my first college football game as a freshman. I didn’t catch on that he was flirting with me, and that there was a reason we were spending so much time together, until we were three months after that football game.
He had been with me through everything. My mother passed away about a year and a half ago from cancer. And he held my hand through it all.
How He Asked
It was the perfect foggy day, a girlfriend of mine had gotten me out of the house and since she’s a makeup artist she “conveniently” suggested we do hair and makeup. So when we got back to the house she said she was sleepy and needed to lay down for a moment. Nathan, suggested that we take a walk while she was resting.
We took a walk through the woods behind my house and as we rounded the bend there was this table with candles, the picture of the day we first and flowers.
And the only thing that I could think to say was, “why is there a table in the middle of the woods?” And as I turned to around there was the man of my dreams on one knee asking me to marry him. It was as if the world stopped and everything was moving in slow motion. Of course I said yes, he’s the man of my dreams and the love of my life. The place was the most perfect place too: it was the place where he first told me he loved me, and the place where we went to cry after my mother passed away. Now this place has a good memory, a perfect one.
