Madison and Damien

Madison's Proposal in Glacier National Park

How We Met

Damien and I met at the beginning of our Sophomore year of high school. We hit it off pretty instantly and soon became good friends. It wasn’t until February 16, 2015, that we “officially” started dating. We’ve been pretty much inseparable since!

How He Asked

Damien and I have had a long distance relationship since he joined to Air Force. In April, I visited him in Montana, where we was stationed. The day after he picked me up from the airport, he took me to Glacier National Park. He wouldn’t tell me where he was taking me in the park, because he had planned a picnic at a surprise location. The three hour drive was beautiful and we had a lot of fun after not seeing each other for since Christmas. We finally pulled into a snow-covered parking lot, overlooking the most beautiful lake I had ever seen. We walked onto the dock, where we would be having our picnic, and paused at the end to take in the beauty of the snow-capped mountains and crystal clear water in front of us.

Engagement Proposal Ideas in Glacier National Park

Where to Propose in Glacier National Park

Damien was quiet, and I thought he was admiring the scenery, when he took both of the hands and told me how much he loves me. Then he got down on one knee and asked that question – “Will you marry me?” After I said yes and we hugged and shed happy tears, our attention was brought to the lady at the opposite end of the dock who was taking pictures! Damien had hired a photographer to capture the entire beautiful moment! After an impromptu engagement session, we sat at the end of the dock to eat our peanut butter and jelly sandwich picnic.
