Madalina and Marc
How We Met
Marc and I go way back to 2009, we first met each other on a bench in the Central Park of our hometown. We were pretty different back then and we did not take each other seriously, pretty much losing contact after that first encouter.
Two years later, by coincidence, we went together to the sea with a group of mutual friends and that is where the flame got its first spark. We started talking about a lot of things and we realised we had a lot in common. We kept in touch for months and finally started dating on the 22nd of January 2012 and we’ve been together ever since.
How He Asked
Marc and I first started talking about marriage about a year and a half ago. I felt the moment was around the corner, but it totally caught me by suprise anyways.
It all happened during our summer vacation to Italy. We were touristing around in beautiful Cinque Terre, discovering those small colourful villages hand in hand, and we actually had one that was our favourite, Manarola. We spent a whole day in Manarola sunbathing, visiting, eating lots of Pizza and Pasta, taking pictures, making memories and hiking a lot, ’cause Cinque Terre is all about hiking and sightseeing. After we got to the highest point of Manarola, we stopped on a bench and just sat there, enjoying eachothers company in the most beautiful place we’ve ever been to.
We decided we should come back the next day to catch the last sunset of our vacation there, in that exact place. (I gotta say, he knows me so well..everything was perfect, the timing, the view. He knows how much I love the sea and sunsets and that’s how he decided it was the perfect spot; not to mention it was also the 22nd, out anniversary.)
There we were the next day, full of energy going on the same trail we were on the day before. We stuck to the plan and took loads of pictures because we were enjoying every second of it. We finally arrived at our place, and it was then when I saw Marc get down to one knee, asking me to be his wife. I started crying instantly and said Yes multiple times through the tears, and then I hugged him really tight feeling so happy and beyond blessed that I get to spend the rest of my life with the man of my dreams!
