Mackenzie and Alex

How We Met

We met in eighth grade (2008) we did not get along at all. Then we ended up having class together our sophomore year of high school (2010). He asked me to homecoming as we were walking to class on a Friday morning and I said yes…that same Friday night at a football game he asked me to be his girlfriend (September 3, 2010) and we have been together ever since! We have been through changing colleges, graduating college and even moving states it was difficult at times but we couldn’t be happier!

Proposal Ideas In my living room

How He Asked

I always knew we was going to ask me to marry him, but I never knew when it would happen. On December 21, 2016 I was driving home from work after a long all day shift. I knew Alex was coming down to visit for the night (he was in college 2 hours away) so I was excited to get home and hangout and watch some movies. On my way home our song (Just The Way You Are -Bruno Mars) came on the radio, which was kinda odd since it’s an older but I didn’t think anything of it because sometimes radio stations play throwbacks, haha. I walked through my front door and Alex was sitting on the couch playing Madden. We started talking about our days and how his drive was to get here.

Engagement Proposal Ideas in In my living room

He said he has brought my Christmas gifts down with him and we should open them that night because we weren’t sure we would have time on actual Christmas. So he said “Go to your room and get the gifts and bring them to the living room” I was kind of frustrated at this 1. because we were just going to have to carry them back to room after we opened them, so why not just open them in my room? and 2. I had been at work all day and just wanted to relax. So me being me I started yelling and cussing at him telling him he was stupid as I went to my room to get the presents.

Still yelling and cussing on my way back to the living room, I turned the corner and there he was. Down on one knee. I just looked at him and starting bawling and said “I’m so sorry, you’re not stupid.” I just stood there and cried for about 5 minutes before I even responded. Once everything settled down, we went to take a picture of my ring. I stopped real fast because I hated my nail color and needed to repaint them lol. I have never been so happy in my life and I cannot wait to marry the man of my dreams!
