Loren and Anthony
How We Met
Anthony and I met online… sort of. It’s a crazy story that includes Instagram and two mutual friends. One of his good friends from college was playing the ultimate matchmaker and wanted to introduce Anthony and I after he saw my Instagram account (apparently I looked fun or something? :) It’s weird, we know!) Despite all odds, his friend got my number from my co-worker and after a long three months of waiting for a “mystery guy” to contact me, Anthony finally called me to schedule our first date. I told myself after I got home from our date that I would marry him. It’s one of the few times in life I have been 110% correct. They say when you know, you know!
How He Asked
Roughly one year before meeting Anthony, I started a bucket list called “101 things in 1001 days”. It was a fun way for me to put together different goals to accomplish in roughly 3 years. After meeting Anthony, I had no idea that he would become such an important part of that bucket list (he even surprised me with a trip to Colorado to cross off hiking a 14er on my list!)
March 9, 2018, was the 1001st day of my bucket list aka the very last day. I had completed my entire bucket list except for the 101st thing: celebrate completing my list! Unbeknownst to me, Anthony made dinner reservations that evening cross it off and celebrate the completion of my bucket list. We made our way to one of our favorite restaurants in the West Loop of Chicago – City Mouse in the Ace Hotel.
Anthony surprised me with a framed canvas printed with my entire bucket list and we spent dinner going through so many amazing memories. I thought the fun was over but after going through the bucket list, Anthony asked if he could add one last item to my bucket list… the 102nd thing: saying “yes” to an engagement proposal and spending the rest of my life with my best friend.
The answer was yes and the rest is history! #bucketlistcomplete
