Marriage Proposal Ideas in Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach

How We Met

We met on an online dating app – both of us grew up in nearby home towns, went to UCLA and cheer for the same sport teams and enjoy Jeopardy as our favorite show. I mentioned him to my roommate, Cady, and she said – heck he likes Jeopardy, just go on a date with him!

Our first date was the most low-key and fun time ever. It just so happened to be St. Patrick’s Day 2016 and also the first day of the NCAA March Madness tournament. We both wanted to watch the basketball games and not be too bothered by the St. Patty’s day crowd, so we ended up at a Buffalo Wild Wings (really classy…). We drank bud light, cheered for the Trojans to lose and spent over 4 hours just chatting. From there we realized it just felt really comfortable.

After about a couple of months of dating, Danny asked me to attend a gala with him with a few hours notice. I immediately bought a gown, got dressed up and that night was dancing the night away to the 20-person orchestra band. The band played Bruno Mars’ “I Think I’m Gonna Marry You” and Danny always says that’s when he knew he was going to marry me.

How He Asked

We now go to the same gala every year and get dressed up and dance the night away. This year, as I was touring the auction room trying to win an i-Robot for our new home (I happen to have a love for philanthropy auctions), Danny asked me to go outside and look at something with him. He dropped to one knee and reminded me this is where he fell in love with me. He loved that I would get dressed up on a moment’s notice and always down to have a great time. Danny proposed on the balcony of the hotel and had a photographer capturing the special moment. Of course I said yes and we still danced the night away.
