Kyla and Cole

How We Met

Cole and I met in the 8th grade. We were in the same friend group but I never saw him as anything more. Growing up I was focused on volleyball and my friends. Freshman year he asked me to Homecoming and I declined because I had a volleyball tournament that weekend. (little did I know he’d held that against me for 5 years haha) I ended up moving but we kept in touch through social media. Thanks to the Lord for Snapchat because that’s how we reconnected and met up 5 years later just to catch up over lunch and we’ll that turned into so much more than I ever expected. We started with a long distance relationship, I lived in Dallas & He was in Norman, Oklahoma for 4 years. It’s true what they say “distance makes the heart grow fonder.” It’s been history ever since.

How He Asked

Cole and I have been dating for 5 years now and have been blessed with seeing a lot of places together. This year Cole’s family invited me to go on a vacation with them to Italy(how could I say no?!) While there we would be celebrating Cole’s grandpas 80th birthday with all the DeKinders. So in honor of him, Cole’s mom scheduled family pictures in Florence and asked me to be apart of there pictures. Everything happened so fast and I and Cole were the last to take pictures.

Little did I know what Cole had up his sleeve and that he would be getting down on one knee asking me if I’d love him forever!♥I said Yes! It was more perfect than I had ever imagined… looking back I don’t think I could have painted it to be this perfect!”
