Engagement Proposal Ideas in Our home

Chris and I have been dating for 7 years. We met working at the same restaurant. I met him 2 months after my mom passed away from ovarian cancer and I have always believed that she sent him to me. The day he proposed he was “going fishing” so my sister, her boyfriend and I went to get brunch and Christmas shop. For some reason, I’m not exactly sure why I decided to wear an ugly Christmas sweater to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. We spent a few hours shopping and had a bunch of packages. I grabbed a few bags and my sisters had suggested I go open the front door to let the dogs out. There were no cars in the driveway so I wasn’t suspicious of anything until I walked into the house and heard music playing. I got a little scared because no one was supposed to be home. I turned the corner to see the most magical thing I have ever seen and all I could get out was “I cant believe I’m wearing an ugly Christmas sweater.” The first thing I saw were the silver metallic balloons written to say “Marry Me?” There were rose petals on the floor and candles just about everywhere else. Red and white balloons covered the entire ceiling of our living room. Then I saw him. He was on one knee already and holding the ring box wearing the biggest smile. Trying to take everything in I looked up to find something so incredible. My mom used to have a chalkboard in our kitchen that she wrote inspirational quotes on when she was sick. We would walk into the kitchen and something different would always be written. The last thing she wrote on that chalkboard was “Today is the beginning of the rest of my life.” Chris had the chalkboard framed in red roses and he was kneeling in front of it. I was in total shock and obviously said YES! We were lucky to have my sister and his twin sister there to document this moment. Our families joined us shortly after for a surprise celebration. I was hands down the best day of my life.
