Kristina and Cameron
How We Met
When people ask how we met both of us just laugh before we answer. We met through Instagram. We had alot of mutual friends from churches and church camps, and one day while scrolling I saw his page. The first thing I thought was “This guy is too good to be true!”. I followed him and he immediately followed me back. A few days passed and he posted a picture with song lyrics of a song we both liked. (To this day neither of us can remember what song) I commented on the photo and we commented back and forth. After we stopped commenting I couldn’t get this guy out of my mind. It felt like God was telling me to talk to him. I messaged him through Instagram and we instantly clicked. He asked for my number and we started texting. We talked non stop after that. This all happened in the end of June of 2016. He became my best friend in a matter of days. He lived in Georiga and I lived in Florida. We talked long distance for 4 months. From the beginning I knew he was the one. In October of 2016 he drove 3 hours to come visit. After hours upon hours of phone calls and video chats we still haven’t met in person. I remember that weekend perfectly. Cameron came and visited and he did something most guys now a days don’t do, he asked my dad’s permission to court me. After my dad told him yes he asked me to be his girlfriend. The next day before he left he told me for the first time in 5 months that he loved me.
How He Asked
On June 3rd, 2017 we all gathered at Cameron’s grandparents house for his brithday. That day was just like any other family get together. I remembered sitting there waiting for the guests to arrive when Cameron asked me to come outside dor something.( I had moved from Florida to Georgia back in February to help in the church Cameron’s dad pastors. So I hadn’t seen my parents in a while and I was sad they weren’t there to help celebrate his birthday.) Once we walked outside I saw my parents pull up. I was in shock and I was so excited to see them. This should have been my first clue that something was up, but I was oblivious. After we ate dinner we all went outside to do pictures. Our whole family was there. They all volunteered Cameron and I to get ours first. Cameron’s mom had mad a sign to hold while we took pictures. She told me she was writing Happy Birthday on it. After she got done she stepped back and everyone started taking pictures. Another thing I was oblivious to! After we took a few my mom and his mom called me up to look at them. As I looked at the phone and read the sign I started to cry. Its happening! The moment I’ve been waiting for and dreamimg of. Cameron’s mom didn’t write happy birthday, she wrote “Will You Marry Me”! I turned to face Cameron and saw him down on one knee. I walked back to him bawling the whole time. Right there at his birthday party in front of the people we love the most, he asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes!
