Kristi and Jordain
How We Met
I first met Jordain back in college and he was on the swim and water polo team and I was on the diving team. We were just friends then, as at the time we were dating other people and we would go on double dates! Fast forward a few years later, after losing touch for a while since I moved away for school, and eventually moved back home, we met up a few times to hang out with friends and we quickly started dating. It felt so easy for us, we are both nature types who loves camping and adventures and after just a month or so of dating he asked me to be his girlfriend on New Year’s Eve 2014. He told me he wanted to start the year off right by asking me to be his girlfriend and right at midnight I said yes! The next day he took me up to the mountains (Big Bear) in his crazy built jeep and we played in the snow. Going up to the mountains on New Year’s Day became a tradition ever since.
How He Asked
Jordain and I had the tradition ever since we started dating of going up to the mountains every New Year’s Day in his crazy built jeep to go on trails trying to find places with untouched snow . This year was going to be a whole new adventure and I had no idea. When we arrived in Big Bear, we met up with some friends and found a trail. When we reached this pond that could barely be seen with all the snow, we all hopped out to walk around and that was when I saw Jordain reaching into his pocket.. I turned away just for second thinking, “Is this really happening??”
And that was when he called my name and I spun around so fast to find him down on one knee. What a more perfect way to propose on New Year’s Day, the same day three years ago when he asked me to be his girlfriend! The snow made everything so magical, it was the perfect day!
