How We Met
Dec 3rd, 2011 I fell in love with the love of my life. We were 16, just babies going to a high school dance together, I never knew that would be the start of our forever. Exactly a month later he showed up to school with a balloon and asked me to be his girlfriend. 20 days after our high school graduation Josh went to Basic Training for the United States Marine Corps. We have been long distance ever since that day, June 22, 2012. After all of his schooling he lived in California for 2 years where we saw each other every 6 moths or so, and 2 years ago he joined a 3 year program that took him overseas. Making the distance even longer, our love grew stronger. I obtained my bachelors degree and am currently getting my masters. We have maintained our relationship and have continued to be best friends, we plan on getting married when he is out of this program. He is my best friend and soul mate, and I can’t believe I get to spend the rest of my life with my high school sweetheart.
How He Asked
November 25, 2017 at the Michigan vs Ohio State game at The University of Michigan my best friend got down on one knee on ESPN national television. We were tailgating before the game, we got there at 530 am to get the best tailgating spot we could get. We ended up parking next to the ESPN guy and of course, my guy had to ask if he could propose on TV and they said YES!! So, a couple hours later Josh said he was being interviewed about being in the service, well, something even better happened! The reporter asked him what he wanted to do to make that day memorable and josh said “the moment that I have always been waiting for is right here” turned to me and dropped on one knee and told me how much he loved me, and right in that moment I was the happiest girl in the world!! I said yes to a forever with my best friend and I could not be more happy! Sportscaster than posted it on all social media and we went viral, it was a crazy whirl wind of a day, but it was the best day of my life.
