How We Met

Nick and I met through mutual friends. It turned out his mom was dating my best friends uncle. We began “talking” while I was away at the University of Kentucky and he was back home in Grove City, Pennsylvania. We started dating when I moved home that summer. When I went back to school that fall he came with me and the rest is history!

How He Asked

We love Kentucky and love the beautiful horse farms here. Our dog is a little Jack Russell named Curlin after the highest North American money earning racehorse. On April 30th Nick drove up to the gates of Hill N’ Dale farms. I was shocked as the gates swung open for us. I couldn’t believe it as we followed the signs for the stallion shed. The rain had just broke and the surrounding farm was like something out of a movie. We walked up to the stalls and a pleasant lady pointed us to Curlin the horse’s stall. I couldn’t believe I was having the chance to look at THE famous Curlin. My jaw hit the floor as they brought out the beautiful chestnut stallion. They let us walk up to him and pet him. When the farm manager went to take a picture of Nick and I next to Curlin, Nick got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! It truly was out of fairy tale. To top things off, when I walked into the restaurant where we had reservations, our families and my best friend sat waiting for us. I’ve never cried more happier tears. I’m so thankful for a future husband who gave me the most wonderful, personal proposal I could imagine.
