How We Met

When I moved back home after college I started a new job at a medical clinic where his aunt also worked. I was single at the time and had been for 4 years and wasn’t really looking for a boyfriend. His aunt kept telling me that she wanted to hook me up with her nephew who is the same age as me and single. I kept turning her down but she was very persistent. I finally agreed to let her give him my number to text me knowing in the back of my mind I wouldn’t allow anything to go further. Josh was working for his family company at the time as a truck driver and was gone all week and only home on the weekends. This made it very hard to meet or hang out. When he was in town he always asked to meet but I would blow him off and come up with excuses not to see him. After several months of texting, he was ready to give up but I finally agreed to meet up. We met at a bar and I brought some friends with me because I was too nervous to meet alone. The date went surprisingly well and I agreed to see him again. After hanging out a couple of times he finally asked me to be his girlfriend. I was caught of guard and didn’t know how to respond because I felt like we didn’t know much about eachother. I responded by saying that it might be too soon because he doesn’t know anything about me. He said he will get to know me and so far really likes me and it feels right. Sceptical at first, I said yes and we have been happily in love ever since.

How He Asked

We have been dating for a year and a half but have known we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together after six months of dating. We decided we wanted to take a vacation for Christmas to get out of the cold weather in Montana and go to Mexico. We had an amazing Christmas dinner and then we decided to take a walk on the beach after the sunset. We walked and talked for awhile and as we were getting ready to go back Josh stopped and got down on one knee, pulled out a gorgeous ring, and asked if I would marry him. I said yes, of course, and I plan on spending the rest of my life with him.
