Justine and Anthony
How We Met
Our area is pretty small, so we’ve always known of each other. He said he always thought of me as the girl he could never get – I had a boyfriend when we unofficially met at a New Year’s Party. A few years later, we officially met through mutual friends. I thought he was the handsome, but cocky gym guy. In March 2016, I planned a trip to San Francisco with my family. Coincidentally, my guy best friend, who’s also friends with Anthony, told me they were also coming along. I didn’t think much of it then because I was close with most of them. During this time, we unexpectedly got to know each other a little better. Subsequently, when we got back to Virginia, he asked me out on a date, then another… and then another. Unbeknownst to me, that was the beginning of forever.
How He Asked
Anthony recently took me on a vacation to Europe with his family. Unfortunately, our trip started off on a not-quite-so-ideal note when the airline lost our luggage containing all of our clothing and toiletries. Luckily, his sister and brother’s girlfriends are around my size and they lent me a few cute outfits. On the days leading up to the proposal, our luggage still had not arrived. At this point, his whole family was scrambling around the boutiques in town, helping me find clothes. I was on the notion that we would be taking scenic pictures for his “mom’s surprise birthday dinner”, at a venue with one of the best views in Santorini.
When we arrived, I had no idea what was going on,and I was even busy Snapchatting the breathtaking views that I hadn’t noticed everyone else stood back. Little did I know, Anthony would be surprising me with the most magical proposal as well as an engagement photo shoot overlooking the sea. May have lost our luggage, but I gained a fiance! The absolute best day of our lives thus far.
