Julie and Lamar
How We Met
I remember the exact moment I met him, but it wasn’t love at first sight. We met at the place where both of us previously worked. I always thought it was strange that I could remember the moment he walked through the door on that very first day. At first we didn’t even really like each other at all, until things started to change. I can’t say when or why things changed, but somewhere along the line we became friends. That friendship grew and we fell in love slowly. As they say, the best love “is friendship that has caught fire.” Our love caught on fire and we plan to keep burning brighter and brighter forever.
How He Asked
After my constant complaining that we had very few pictures of us that we didn’t take ourselves, Lamar got one of his photographer friends to set up a “couples” session for us. Little did I know, they had set the whole thing up as a surprise proposal! As we walked around and took pictures, I even joked about getting engaged and how I couldn’t wait to do actual engagement photos. At the end of our session, the photographer told us to act natural and pose however we wanted. That is when he got down on one knee and asked me to make this moment last forever. I’ll never forget his voice as he looked up at me with a big grin and asked me to marry him.
